A community-anchored initiative to close the zero-dose gap across the FCT's six Area Councils, helping every missed child reach government-led immunization services.

A practical response to the children routine systems are still missing.
Across the FCT, an estimated 15,872 children are zero-dose: they have not received their first dose of DTP or Penta. Outdated microplans, unmapped urban-slum settlements, fragmented data and uneven routine immunization financing can leave families outside the reach of care.
Project DIVA combines community knowledge with reliable data. Over 18 months, it will support settlement-level targeting, household verification, referral and follow-up so children can reach government-led routine immunization services.

Monitor service readiness and escalate vaccine or cold-chain issues through appropriate channels.
CBO Strengthening
Build governance, safeguarding, financial management, MEL and accountability capacity.
Government Advocacy & Financing
Support routine immunization budget tracking and advocacy with community and government stakeholders.
Catch-Up Mobilization
Restore demand and access in settlements affected by service disruptions.
Roles & Responsibilities
Clear accountability, with immunization remaining government-led.
Neither VNDC nor the Community Based Organizations deliver immunization services directly. Their role is to strengthen community engagement, data and accountability around reliable government delivery.
Lead grantee
Vaccine Network for Disease Control
VNDC coordinates strategy, Gavi compliance and reporting. It designs technical systems for microplanning, data quality assessment and ODK/DHIS2 tracking, while strengthening CBO governance and advocacy support.
Community-level partners
Community Based Organizations
CBOs lead mobilization, household verification and referral. They maintain community line-lists, support data verification, follow up non-compliant households and track RI budgets through local scorecards.
